So Tired

I can't believe how long its been since I posted, but I have a good excuse. See, I'm tired. (Please don't tell Sheepish Annie.)

I'm knitting for Christmas instead of shopping. My nieces are going to get the Mini-Clap (blogged here) and Diagonal Lace Scarf (blogged here), mittens and possibly hats. The mittens are all knitted. I just couldn't find the energy to take pictures of them in progress. Sorry. I will be washing and blocking this weekend...maybe The Husband will have the energy to take pictures. I just cast on for the first hat. I'm just going to keep knitting items as long as the yarn lasts. Oh yeah -- I'll leave it to my mother to decide who gets the mini-button hole bag. (Remember this thing?)

I also knit a Scrunchable Scarf using some gorgeous yarn from Brooks Farm. It knit up even more beautiful than I expected. It is a gift for my brother's girlfriend. (Look -- a picture, so what if its old...it is a picture.)

I also got some more done on the Autumn Mystery Shawl. I'm actually 1/3 of the way through the last clue. Hopefully I'll find some time to finish it before the end of the year.

There's also some yarn that I want to blog about -- some really nice purchases and I'll be knitting my first* adult sweater.

Hopefully I'll find the energy to take pictures of recent gift purchases for etsy Friday. And to blog about my secret knitting project that's finally finished. And to tell you the exciting news. But I'm just too tired to do more tonight.

*I did knit a couple of sweaters in my first knitting life, but I didn't pay attention to gauge or how the yarn will work or anything. So, now I'm going to try again.

Finished Objects -- Part 1

I present to you...

FINISHED OBJECTS*

*Finished Object: ends weaved in, washed and blocked

Pattern: Diagonal Lace Scarf -- Pattern -- Ravelry
Comments: I like the pattern, but I think I would use a different yarn next time. Solana is a wonderful yarn, but too drapey for this pattern. (See the Mini-Clap)

Pattern: Mini-Clap -- Pattern -- Ravelry

Comments: I loved this combination so much, I bought more Solana for a full-sized Clapotis and joined the 2nd Wave Clapotis KAL.

Pattern: Huff the Merino Dragon KnitKit -- Kit -- Ravelry
Yarn: Morehouse Merino 3 Strand- Ravelry
Comments: This pattern was really well written. This was my first project working with merino yarn and I loved the softness.

I hoped to have more, but they're still blocking.

Blocking...Ugh

Is there anything more tedious and boring than blocking? I've been blocking my 90% finished items since Sunday. As one dries, then another one takes its place.

It started with the Diagonal Lace scarf:

Then the Mini-Clap:

There's still a little room left -- so Huff the Merino Dragon gets his turn on the board.

The Mini-Clap dried the next day. So, in went the Besotted Scarf (The Husband's Birthday gift).

Yesterday, Huff and the Diagonal Lace Scarf dried, so I replaced them with My So-Called Scarf and the Sproingy Scarf.

I think the worst part is leaning on the moist surface and having it seep into your skin. Granted threading the wires through is tedious, but really, I hate the damp.

Stayed tuned...Finished Objects Coming Soon.

This is my favorite picture of Bruce & Lizzie. She was less than 4 months old in the picture.
